Astroview - Dynamic View Constraint Tool

$10
4 ratings

Astroview is a modal operator that lets you jump to focus points so that your working area is always in front of you.

Whether you work in 3d modeling or sculpting, navigating/panning the viewport can be annoying.

Features:

  • Change target point
  • Smooth Orbiting/Navigation
  • Auto-zoom to target point while you orbit

Upcoming features:

  • Store/manage view points

FAQ:

What's the difference between this & Center View to Cursor or Orbit Around Selection?

Center View to Cursor/ Orbit Around Selection shifts you out of focus, meaning you are still required to pan the viewport in order to focus on your working point. Astroview locks your view to the target point.

How does the add-on work?

Simple, you start Astroview in the top viewport header & hit space to change target point. Esc to exit.

Does it work in sculpt mode?

Yes, it supports any mode you are in.

Note: For edit mode, start astroview in object mode and then jump to edit mode again. I have not found a work around, but works using that solution for now.
